How the process works

    RFQ and BOM scrub

    Share Gerbers, BOM, assembly data, and target quantities. We return technical questions plus a costed materials view with alternates and lead-time risks flagged.

    Fabrication and procurement in parallel

    Once the stackup and BOM are approved, boards and parts move together so the kit and panels converge on the same revision and schedule.

    Assembly, inspection, and FA

    SMT/TH assembly follows the traveler with AOI and any agreed X-ray or functional gates. First-article review closes issues before volume release.

  4. 04

    Pack, ship, and ramp

    Finished boards are packed and documented for your receiving process. Subsequent lots reuse the locked traveler unless an ECO changes scope.

FAQ

How does turnkey differ from labor-only or consigned assembly?
Turnkey includes material procurement (and usually fabrication) plus assembly under one program. Labor-only/consigned assembly assumes you supply kits. Turnkey wins on speed and single-owner accountability; consignment wins when you must keep AVL control or unique pricing agreements in-house.
What is partial turnkey?
Partial turnkey splits the BOM: you consign critical, custom, or contractually sourced lines; we procure the rest. It is the practical middle path when a few parts are special and everything else is commodity.
Can we start turnkey after already fabricating boards ourselves?
Yes. We can pick up assembly and sourcing once boards meet handling requirements and the BOM is locked to the assembly revision. Share finish type and board age if OSP or other time-sensitive finishes are involved.
How do you handle long-lead and allocation parts?
They are flagged during the BOM scrub with lead-time and alternate options. Approve substitution rules early—especially for passives—so procurement can move without a week of email on every line. Hard AVL parts should be marked before quoting.
Who owns quality if a component or solder joint fails?
Under full turnkey, one party owns the chain of custody from authorized-channel sourcing through assembly process control. That clarity is a major reason teams choose turnkey for NPI and regulated-adjacent products. Hybrid models define ownership line-by-line in the RFQ.
What should a turnkey RFQ include?
Gerber/drill and stackup notes, a full BOM with MPNs, assembly drawings and centroid data, quantities by revision, test/programming needs, shipping destination, and any AVL or alternate constraints. The more complete the package, the tighter and faster the quote.
